App Gamification - WhatsApp: Visual Mock-Up

I have created a number of visual mock-ups using Photoshop to display my full idea for gamifying this app in a simple and user-friendly way.


Original WhatsApp conversation Screen

The delivery report symbols have been changed so that the colour of the bubbles displays to the user whether the message has been delivered or not. The default colours would be set to green = delivered, yellow = sent, red = failed however the user is able to change the colour of the bubbles as an unlockable feature in the achievements section. 

Moreover, I have changed the attachments section so that only four options are available as these are the most used features.

The message box has also been changed so that it is longer, the microphone symbol button has been changed to a constant send button and the WhatsApp camera button has been removed as this seems to an unpopular feature for this application.


Modified conversation screen

Once the user has selected the media they wish to send to their contact from their phone gallery they can swipe up to send it (Delivering the object) or swipe down to cancel sending the file. When swiping up or down, the image symbol moves with the user's touch.


Sending images

Once the user has selected the document they wish to send to their contact they can swipe up to send it (Delivering the object) or swipe down to cancel sending the file. When swiping up or down, the document symbol moves with the user's touch. 


Sending documents

Once the user has selected the audio file they wish to send to their contact they can swipe up to send it (Delivering the object) or swipe down to cancel sending the file. When swiping up or down, the audio symbol moves with the user's touch.


Sending Audio files

When an achievement is unlocked the symbol turns green and the equivalent customisable feature is unlocked as a reward.

[Research] Traditional Poster Design (4CTA1214)

As you can see from the superman poster, there are only four main colours used which includes red, blue, yellow and brown. All elements are filled in with block colours with no shading which was a common colour theme for traditional posters of this kind. This poster may have been used to advertise a new Superman comic or movie depending on the year it was created. The expression on the characters face fits the title shown on the poster explaining that he is returning. This poster advertised Coca Cola, and looks as though this specific poster was used in the USA - due to the currency used. The whole aim of the poster is to incorporate this drink into working peoples daily lives. This is seen by the slogan, 'Work refreshed' and the small graphics on the bottom right of the poster.
