App Gamification - WhatsApp: Already Existing Features

I decided to gamify the popular application 'WhatsApp'.

At this present time the WhatsApp application has the following features:

Chat - List of conversations are shown

If the image next to a conversation is clicked that image pops up bigger with the conversation title. If a contact is clicked you are able to message, call, video call or have more info using this shortcut. If a group or broadcast's image is clicked the user is only able to message or view more information.

 If you hold down a contact's conversation you are able to:

  • Add Shortcut
  • View Contact
  • Mark as unread
  • Pin the conversation
  • Delete the conversation
  • Mute the conversation
  • Archive the conversation
When a contact is clicked the following options are displayed:
  • View Contact
  • Media
  • Search
  • Mute notifications
  • Wallpaper
  • More ----> Block, Clear chat, Email chat, Add shortcut
When a group is clicked the following options are displayed: 
  • Group info
  • Group media
  • Search
  • Mute notifications
  • Wallpaper
  • More ----> Clear chat, Email chat, Add shortcut
You are also able to send a message and emojis, attach a Document, a photo from Gallery, use the phone's camera, an audio file from audio, your location or another contact. 

Moreover, you can also add a voice-note by recording your voice via the app or take a picture/video using the app.

You can call or video call when a contact's conversation is clicked.

When a contact's title is clicked when the conversation is viewed you are able to:
  • Share - able to share this contact and contact image to other contacts on WhatsApp
  • Edit - able to edit the contact via the phone's address book
  • View in address book
  • Verify security code
You are able to view all media that has been sent in that conversation as well as mute notifications, edit custom notifications, view starred messages, view encryption (Switch it on and off), view information about the contact and their phone number, view group that you have in common, view other phones (able to message, call or video call), block the contact and report spam.

Status - Allows you to write a status and/or add a picture as a status

  • Status Privacy
  • Settings
Calls - Allows you to re-call your contacts but mainly acts as a call log

  • Clear call log
  • Settings

New group - Allows you to create a group by adding participants from your contact list

New broadcast - Allows you to select a minimum of two contacts you wish to share a broadcast with

 Once contacts are selected:

  • Broadcast list info
  • Broadcast list media
  • Search
  • Wallpaper
  • More ----> Clear chat, Email chat, Add Shortcut

WhatsApp Web - Allows you to connect your WhatsApp online so you can use the application on your computer/tablet

Starred messages - Allows you to view messages you have starred as important

  • Unstar all
  • Forward starred messages

Settings - Allows you to change settings, including your profile picture, username and headliner

  • Account - Privacy, Security, Two-step verification, Change number, Delete my account
  • Chats - Wallpaper, Chat backup, Chat History
  • Notifications - Message notifications, Group notifications, Call notifications
  • Data and storage usage - Network usage, Storage usage
  • Invite a friend 
  • Help - FAQ, Contact us, Terms and Privacy Policy, App info

Search - Allows you to search contacts or text from specific conversations

Camera - Allows you to take a photo or video to send to a contact

[Research] Traditional Poster Design (4CTA1214)

As you can see from the superman poster, there are only four main colours used which includes red, blue, yellow and brown. All elements are filled in with block colours with no shading which was a common colour theme for traditional posters of this kind. This poster may have been used to advertise a new Superman comic or movie depending on the year it was created. The expression on the characters face fits the title shown on the poster explaining that he is returning. This poster advertised Coca Cola, and looks as though this specific poster was used in the USA - due to the currency used. The whole aim of the poster is to incorporate this drink into working peoples daily lives. This is seen by the slogan, 'Work refreshed' and the small graphics on the bottom right of the poster.
