Ocado Live Brief: Finalising Concept & Structuring Storyboard

After brainstorming our ideas on Slack, we came up loosely with a concept. On Monday, we discussed this concept with Mikki and were given feedback. She liked our idea and found it cute, she mentioned that we needed to ensure that our motion graphic doesn't exceed 20 seconds as our concept was quite detailed.

She explained that this was positive rather than a negative because it is easier to shorten a bigger idea than trying to expand on a smaller idea. She suggested that our next step was to create a storyboard to help us finalise our concept. This was helpful as we had a rough idea of what we wanted to include in our motion graphic however we hadn't properly structured our concept.

On Tuesday, Anja and I discussed our concept at great length and visually finalised our concept.

Our final concept
A mother asks her daughter what she would like from Ocado as she is doing her online grocery shop. Her daughter replies saying that she would like the meal that her Grandma had made for her.
She points at a framed photograph of her grandma holding the meal she is requesting.
The next scene shows her Mum looking through the international food section on the Ocado website and scrolls through the Italian foods section.
She adds the ingredients she needs to make the meal (gnocchi) to her basket.
As she presses the checkout button, a scene of the delivery vans on their way to deliver their order is displayed.
This van then travels across the screen pulling the call to action frame.

These drawings are the visual representation of our concept.
We thought of what transitions and effects we could use to make each scene flow smoothly and we added these transitions to this drawing.

This list is the structure for our concept and storyboard.
Frames 1 - 8 are going to be the key frames for our project.
