While researching Wordpress, I felt as though I was quite limited in terms of coding, design and templates. Therefore I decided the consider other options rather than wordpress as I felt as though I could gain a more professional result using a different method. As I have prior experience coding websites from scratch using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Bootstrap I decided that this may be the best option when reworking Ramsay Safety Solutions' website. I was however concerned about the marketing aspect of the website and decided to research this. Furthermore, I also contacted the marketing company that was managing this for Ramsay Safety Solutions' previous website to make sure that they would be able to market the site (as this was the main reason why I was continuing to use Wordpress). Chris took us through Vuforia and how to use this in Unity. As I had already downloaded Unity but didn't add Vuforia when installing, I had to download the Vuforia support for Unity. We added an AR camera using the Vuforia Engine and added an ImageTarget to the camera. We deleted the other GameObjects from the scene that weren't needed for this project. In the project settings' XR settings we enabled the Vuforia Augmented Reality Support. We then pressed 'Add Target' to the ImageTarget GameObject and we were automatically sent to the Vuforia site. We logged in created a project and went to the develop section and pressed, 'Get Development Key'. This gave us a free development license key.  On the AR camera we clicked 'Open Vuforia Engine Configuration' which allowed us to insert the development key in the 'App Licence Key' section. Ramsay Safety Solutions' website uses a large amount of plugins to add functionality to the website without coding. Each plugin has a specific purpose, however there are many plugins that are similar. For example, an external marketing team is using the "All in One SEO pack" plugin. However, a recent blog post by the editing team at ThemeGrill have recommended the "Yoast SEO" plugin instead but have stated, 'another plugin called   All in One SEO Pack which works quite similarly.'  (ThemeGrill Editorial, 2019) (Own Screenshot of Ramsay Safety Solutions' Wordpress.org plugins, 2019) I decided that using WordPress.org plugins would be beneficial to my workflow as well as add additional functionality into the website that I wouldn't need to code. Initially I had some difficulty coming up with character designs and therefore I decided to create a Pinterest board to help with some inspiration.

I began toying with the idea that the main character was more human than fictional so that they would be more relatable to the target audience. Therefore as I still wanted this to relate to saving the Earth I considered a more environmentally friendly message. In this idea, I thought about an androgynous human that has a spiritual connection with nature. Because of this connection, they are the only one that can save the Earth from the other humans ruining the planet. I was considering the collectable item to be oxygen as the majority of the trees would have been cut down in this world so there wasn't any natural producers of oxygen and an abundance of carbon dioxide. 

My initial idea was to have a flame that collects heat to reignite the Earth. The enviorment is filled with water droplets who are 'enemies' to the flame (as water can put out a flame). They have never been kind to the flame because he is different to them however the only one that can save the Earth is the flame. This is due to the warmth collectible items being too hot for the water droplets and therefore they turn into steam. Morever the flame is the only one able to reignite the core of the Earth because he is a flame who becomes bigger when he collects heat. Once the flame has collected all of the heat and becomes really large he is able to reignite the Earth.

I noticed that there was a number of updates that were required on the website and therefore updated wordpress and already-existing plugins. These updates are neccessary in keeping the site: Secure Updates decrease vunerabilities via patches to strengthen against attacks. As Ramsay Safety Solutions' are a Health and Safety company this would reflect badly if their website wasn't secure and safe from attackers. Fix bugs that may have been found in older versions of the Wordpress core and plugins. Add new features and functionality which can add modernisation to a website. (Own Image, 2019) (Own Image, 2019) I discovered that instead of coding the back-end of the site to change the layout, you are able to use the visual composer tool to access more front-end options.
