Ocado Live Brief: Walking Animation Example & Project Roles

Image
Anja sent me a YouTube video of how to put together a walking animation, which is what we have decided to include in our motion graphic. We have decided that I am going to focus on the digital drawing aspect while Anja is going to focus on creating the animations and other transitions in After Effects with my support. We have done this so that we wouldn't end up with two drawing styles which might look strange and have divided this tasks equally using this method. (Move Shapes, 2018) In the below conversations we agreed and organised to meet on Monday after our lecture to start animating our motion graphic. I suggested what roles we could play in our motion graphic where I would illustrate the drawings and Anja would focus on more of the After Effects and transitions with my support. I suggested this as I have already had experience using illustrator and can create graphics quickly while Anja could use his technical skills and attention to detail to input his ideas in...

Ocado Live Brief: Research - Social Media Platforms

Image
I decided to research Ocado on social media to see what sort of ads/pictures they were already posting. Instagram I really liked their Instagram as all posts were very vibrant, colourful and appealing to the eye. The type of demographic commonly found on Instagram are teenagers/young adults as this is quite a new social media to use compared to Facebook. Instagram is very visual with minimal copy. Facebook Posts found on Facebook were more structured and polished, they were still fun but in somewhat less youthful. This may be due the target audience of Facebook being adults/middle aged individuals and other companies. Therefore Ocado would want to keep more of a professional look compared to their posts on Instagram.   Twitter Posts on Twitter were very copy heavy. One image was used for every tweet however the information regarding the image seemed to be the most important aspect of the tweet rather than the image. Images were more professional and ...

Ocado Live Brief: Storyboard Update

Image
We agreed to update our storyboard to make our motion graphic simpler, therefore I redrew our storyboard using our desired drawing style. While I was drawing the storyboard, I asked Anja what expression I should give to the Mum as I wasn't sure. This is our updated storyboard: Title page I put this into PDF form and e-mailed this to Julian so that he could send our storyboard to Ocado for feedback.

Analysing Survey Results & Improvements

Image
25 people in total participated in our survey. Results from this survey influenced some of our decisions when finalising our motion graphic ad. 1) What is your favourite cuisine? 48% of participants stated that Italian food was their favourite cuisine followed closely by Indian food at 12%. These results may be biased due to my family and friends mainly being predominantly Italian and Anja's family being Indian as we shared this survey with the people we knew. When filtering this down to participants who have shopped at Ocado, we discovered that this equated to 6 individuals. Once filtered down, these participants liked Italian and Indian food equally. However, this may be biased as mentioned previously. When collecting these results, they aided our decision on choosing Italian food as our international food in our motion ad. Improvements - In future, a wider audience would have given us more of an insight into what cuisines are the most popular. With 25 ...
