Motion Graphic: Adding Sound

We collaborated with Matt Burrows who studies the BSc (Hons) Sound Design Technology course at the University of Hertfordshire. He added some simple sounds in our ad just to add some variation if the audience decides to listen to the ad with their sound on.

When looking at Ocado's previous advertisements, they either didn't use any sound or used one or two sounds during the ad and therefore we thought it was appropriate to add some subtle sounds in our ad.

He used Logic Pro X to add sounds to our motion graphic.
He added different 'whoosh' sounds by using the sound of a bamboo stick and pitched it up and down for variety. For the sound used when zooming into the computer screen, he used white noise that was filtered, pitched and reversed to create this sound. For the sound of the van, he used a van recording where he added EQ and cut parts of the audio that wasn't needed.

As this was exported as a .mov file, I used the Adobe Media Encoder CC to convert this to an .mp4 video file which meets the brief.
